Yakiniku
Yakiniku is the Japanese term for grilled meat such as steaks and beef cheeks. It is believed that yakiniku originated from Korean cuisine. However, it is not derived from a specific dish, but from the way the meat - mainly beef - is cooked. The guest decides how well it is grilled, which is done on a hearth with a special griddle. The waiter serves the raw meat and vegetables, which the guests are expected to take care of themselves. The meat tastes best with grilled vegetables such as potatoes, aubergines, onions, peppers, mushrooms and corn. In most yakiniku restaurants, the rule is that the entrance fee is paid in advance and the customer eats as much as they want.
